Why we're here

I was born on Naxos. I grew up in Australia, and spent my working life building technology across Australia, Vietnam and the United States. But the islands never really let go, and a few years ago I started coming home.

What I found when I came back is that I'd been given something rare — the local experience. The bus that actually turns up. The taverna down the unmarked lane. The beach that's empty on a Tuesday in August. Most visitors never find it. Neither do most Greeks arriving from Athens. They get the postcard version, and they leave thinking that was the island.

Greek Island Group exists to hand that local knowledge to everyone. Every platform we build takes something islanders simply know and turns it into something anyone can use — buses, streets, rentals, and everything still to come.

Because when someone sees these islands the way we see them, they fall in love. They tell their friends. They come back. And the islands are better for it — the drivers, the tavernas, the rental shops, the families who've been here for generations. That's the whole idea.
